Fundacion Nuevo Mundo is an extension
of Unidad Educativo Bilingüe Nuevo Mundo and began in 1983
as an integral part of the educational project created by its
founders. That project is to provide an excellent education
and formation, in one institution, for groups from different
social levels. Both groups, morning and afternoon sessions,
have teachers of the highest qualifications and are educated
in exactly the same attractive setting with the best equipment
and laboratories that education requires for our competetive
world. In the afternoon session there are over 750 students
from kindergarden to senior year in high school. All this started
with just twenty six students twenty one years ago.
Nine senior classes have graduated. Most of the students
go on to work or study or both. Some of them have been given
scholarships to study in the United States sponsored by universities
such as John Carroll in Ohio and Clarke in Dubuque.
A sense of Christian caring and social justice has brought
together the FUNDACION NUEVO MUNDO VOLUNTEERS
who help in the academic area tutoring with special attention
to math and language skills, and in general, to meet the multiple
needs of the children and families in Fundacion
Nuevo Mundo.
